My educational Philosophy

My Educational philosophy is one that focuses on developing the intrinsic abilities necessary to survive in the world through education. Teaching things such as discipline, longsuffering, respect, diligence, persistence, and creativity through the various challenges that passing a secondary math class presents. Of the well-known philosophies that have been studied over the days, mine would closest represent essentialism. Partly because I plan to teach math, a very essentialist subject with right/wrong answers. But also because I believe that suffering through the drone and bore that is school produces talents in a child that transfer to longstanding productivity that they will face in the future.

I plan to teach students with the typical lecture/note production to begin every year. The first day or two I will go over what the expectations are in the classroom, as well as what I perceive to be the best way to pass the class. Giving students the blueprint from the beginning should bode well for their success in the future. After the lesson, if we have the time, we will begin to do the enrichment process, which will consist of worksheets, kahoots, webquests, "Fun" websites such as Khan Academy and the like. This will give the students time to talk and commune amongst themselves while learning the information necessary for the section/chapter.
